Bikepacking while fat, and sewing activewear
I’m still riding the stoke from my first ever bikepacking trip on my bike named Dolly (yes, of course, she’s named after Dolly Parton). It was the most empowering thing I’ve ever done. It changed my life and I can’t wait to see what I do next!
Adams Pant
Over the past few years I’ve been on a never ending quest for magical hard pants. I’ve tried the Landers, Persephones, Terra trousers, Cass pants, Peppermint wide leg, Worker trousers… whew! That’s a lot.
My sewing knowledge and execution has only increased over the years. None of them have fit me as well as the Adams pants by Daughter Judy patterns!!!!!!!
Helene Jeans
I wanted to try out the Top Down Center Out (TDCO) fitting method by Ithaca Maven for the first time on a pair of hard pants. The Crooked Hem has done an excellent job explaining this method in depth, please check out their youtube tutorials and blog.
The Helene Jeans pattern is having a bit of a moment right now. They look so cute on others and have the perfect vintage look I’m craving. I was won over! I was determined and excited to test out TDCO on this pattern.
Knit lounge set - Stellan Tee & Pipit Loungewear shorts
Spending so much time at home in 2020 made me realize I was severely lacking comfy, cute me-made loungewear… problem solved. Now I don’t want to wear anything else when I’m lounging. Looks like I’m gonna have to make a second set.
Birgitta Helmersson Zero Waste Cropped Shirt
The zero waste cropped shirt by Birgitta Helmersson is a really fun project you can complete in a day or weekend! I love how different the silhouette looks when you sew it up in different fabric weights and drapes. I know I’ll be making several more of these as they are so easy to wear!

Super basic tank top + Pomona shorts
The tank top is an easy make, and an easy wear. I’m very appreciative of this free pattern. I am really happy that I made the Pomona shorts, as I see myself getting a lot of wear out of them. I don’t often find shorts that fit and are comfortable, but these really are! This is the magic of sewing.
Meridian bridesmaid dress
My best friend of 17 years, Megan, asked me to be a bridesmaid for her wedding in March. She let me make my own dress which made me really happy! It took me about a month from start to finish working in the evenings and on weekends.
Pipit Loungewear Set
I’ve been pining over every gorgeous Pipit Loungewear set on Instagram for half a year. I knew it would be something I’d wear a lot because 1) I’m a home body that needs sassy loungewear 2) we don’t have central AC in Oak View and I need something breezy for hot days & nights 3) it’s really a cute look.
