Over the past few years I’ve been on a never ending quest for magical hard pants. I’ve tried the Landers, Persephones, Terra trousers, Cass pants, Peppermint wide leg, Worker trousers… whew! That’s a lot.
My sewing knowledge and execution has only increased over the years. None of them have fit me as well as the Adams pants by Daughter Judy patterns!!!!!!!
I wanted to try out the Top Down Center Out (TDCO) fitting method by Ithaca Maven for the first time on a pair of hard pants. The Crooked Hem has done an excellent job explaining this method in depth, please check out their youtube tutorials and blog.
The Helene Jeans pattern is having a bit of a moment right now. They look so cute on others and have the perfect vintage look I’m craving. I was won over! I was determined and excited to test out TDCO on this pattern.
The zero waste cropped shirt by Birgitta Helmersson is a really fun project you can complete in a day or weekend! I love how different the silhouette looks when you sew it up in different fabric weights and drapes. I know I’ll be making several more of these as they are so easy to wear!
